I really enjoyed collecting my reading stats! I guess not only am I a book nerd, I’m a data nerd too!

Reading Stats!

Books Read: 65

Not so bad considering how much time I allocated to writing my manuscript this year.

Genre I read the most: SCIENCE FICTION won it this year!

This was a surprise! Usually fantasy wins out! My favourite SciFi this year was Hail Mary, by Andy Weir.

Most read in a month: February with 8 books!

Number of Library Books: A whopping 33 library books, both paper and audio, made it into my ‘Finished’ pile. It’s important to support your local library!!

50% were library books!

Other standouts?

Best romance: The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan Bannen.

Best vacay read: Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa

Most shocking read: The Parade by Dave Eggers

Best cosy: The Housekeeper and the Professor by Ogawa

Looking ahead to 2025

Will I read more, or less? Will SciFi reign supreme in 2025? Will I clear my TBR or will I keep adding to it, swayed by the pretty covers on the new release table at the bookshop? (OK that one is a given, fine.)

What I do hope is that I keep some even more detailed stats on my reading habits in 2025, because it’s been a great exercise to look back over the year and see which worlds I’ve been in!

What were your favourite reads of 2024? Drop them in a comment below – the TBR has grown sentient and she’s hungry!
